Lance Tips

Lance tips are the replaceable nozzles at the end of a lance used in various metallurgical processes, such as oxygen blowing in steelmaking (BOF), desulfurization, and refining in EAF/LF/VD/VOD furnaces. The lance tip controls the flow, velocity, and direction of gases (such as oxygen, argon, or nitrogen) injected into molten metal. Lance tips are typically made from materials like copper, brass, or stainless steel with ceramic coatings to withstand extreme temperatures and harsh conditions. They require periodic replacement due to wear and erosion.

CHNZBTECH Types

CHNZBTECH Types of Lance Tips:

CHNZBTECH Types of Lance Tips:
  • Single-hole tip – Directs a single stream of gas, used in some refining and heating applications.

  • Multi-hole tip – Features multiple outlets to distribute gases evenly, common in BOF and EAF processes.

  • Coherent jet tip – Uses a special design to reduce gas dispersion, improving oxygen efficiency in steelmaking.

  • Supersonic tip – Accelerates gas flow to high speeds for deep penetration into molten metal
